These are my favorite earrings, I wear them almost everyday. They are dainty but still have a little sparkle and I love that they are mini ear climbers!

This is the best vest ever! I got this vest last winter from J.Crew and I love everything about it. It’s comfortable, stylish and not too bulky. When looking for a puffer vest consider if you will be wearing it for work or play. If you are wanting an athletic outdoorsy vest, stick with Patagonia or Eddie Bauer. These are great for out in the elements and give you a sporty look. If you want your vest to be a fashion piece, only go to J.Crew.  This vest will not disappoint and you will be loving it too!

I also have it in chartreuse and this season I love the irish moss!

Winter is all about staying warm and what better what to do that then with scarves! Scarves are one of my favorite accessory and they can completely change an outfit. These three looks all have the same staple garments with a different scarf for each look. You can see how much color, texture and tying can change an outfit. I am always looking for new ways to tie scarves and make them look new and exciting. Interested in finding new techniques? Try Pinterest for fresh ways to tie your scarves!

This wool baseball hat is one of favorite hats, the grey goes with so many things and it’s a great piece for fall and winter. To offset the casual nature of the baseball hat and cargo pants I have paired them with a sweater and statement necklace. This neutral color palette is perfect for many scarf and sunglass combinations. My go to sunglass choice on a daily basis is aviators, specifically reflective aviators. They are so fun and add a pop of color to any outfit while keeping you shaded. Check out some new aviator sunglasses at Salt City Optics.

I believe in stripes for every season and this season its pink stripes. This boat neck stripe shirt from J.Crew has been a go to for me since I bought it. It’s easy, fun and can be dressed up with accessories. It is three-quarter length sleeves but is great with jeans on a brisk day or on a warmer day with shorts for a balanced summer look.

I like wearing my pink stripes with gold accents and a little sparkle. My necklace is also from J.Crew, it has a blush colored stone and hanging diamonds that dress up your casual look just a little. You could also wear a sparkly statement necklace and heels if you were wearing this for a late night look. On a cooler day or night pair with a jean jacket or cargo jacket.

Please note this shirt also comes in other colors so you can fill your closet with stripes for each season!

If I had to pick one color to incorporate into every outfit this summer it would be army green. I’ll take it any way I can get it; shorts, jeans, jackets, vests, button downs. It’s a basic muted shade of green that goes with a lot of other colors and can make you look tanner, instantly! I love pairing it with denim and white, like this outfit, or with a black and white striped shirt or dress.

Don’t be afraid to mix styles, pair your army green with an ivory lace top or skirt. Girly with a splash of masculine can really set your outfit apart. I always like to add metal accents; gold, silver or both look great with army green. Leopard is also a great neutral pattern to mingle in, try shoes like I did, or a handbag!

The weekend is upon most of us a little early this week, thanks to a certain holiday! Whether you are headed to the beach, the city or staying put don’t forget to pack all of your Americana apparel. My favorite look of the long weekend, chambray. Not only is denim blue, perfect for the theme of the weekend, it’s also a great neutral to pair all summer long. This easy and affordable shift dress has embroidered details and small cutouts in the back for a classic look with a twist. I paired the dress with black wedges, black large framed sunnies and a straw sun hat. Find some chambray to pull your Fourth of July look together!

Happy Fourth of July, have a safe holiday weekend!

One thing I wish upon winter is that it be over after Christmas. This week Minnesota entered a ‘deep freeze’ and let me tell you I picked a great week to do a photo shoot… burr! Between the chilly fingers and static hair this shoot did not last long. Now I know why all bloggers live in California or Texas… it’s always great photo weather and you only have to put on a jacket to make a statement.

This outfit was inspired by wish lists and holiday styling. I wore this outfit to Christmas Eve, minus the handbag I unwrapped Christmas morning, and stayed toasty throughout the festivities. Chambray is the new black for making your winter wardrobe warmer. You can layer it under sweaters, cardigans, jackets and vests for a preppy chic look. It pulls everything together and gives you a well rounded look.

Everyone have a safe and happy new year!

Fall is upon us and my scarves are out! Take a basic outfit to the next level with a sassy scarf accent.

Grab your favorite colorful scarf and choose a shade or two within . Then add accents based on the color, or colors, that you chose (don’t be afraid to choose more than one!) . If you’re feeling daring, mix in a print like leopard! Beware of mixing too many colors when it comes to the major elements of the outfit, you don’t want to get too choppy. Pick unique neutrals to make your splash piece pop!

I love this eggplant tunic from Forever 21, it’s not only a great color but it also has great flow and an accordion pleated back.

Finding trendy accessories for less is always on my shopping “To Do” list. One of my favorite places to get jackets for all seasons is H&M. They are inexpensive and look great! My preferred fall jacket colors are army green, navy, mauve and black. I have both canvas and wool jackets from H&M. My favorite things about this jacket are the cinched waist and over sized pockets. It also has an amazing hood that folds up into the collar for more volume or comes out for rainy day protection.

These Target tribal boots are from last season. They are really unique in the fact that the colored part is actually yarn sewn together, it gives the boots great texture. The southwestern style and chestnut faux leather make them the perfect accent to any outfit!

Slate gray is a dream summer neutral. It is light, clean and can be mixed with lots of colors. Slate looks great with everything from magenta to emerald and especially with blues and ambers. Leopard sandals, my go to print, also add an unexpected contrast of neutrals with the gray. This Madewell blouse has a gray stripe that stands out thanks to the slate pants. The blouse can also be paired with dark indigo jeans and chestnut accents or booties during the colder months.

What would you wear with gray?

When people hear the word monochromatic, they think boring. That doesn’t have to be the case! This outfit mixes blush, magenta and fuchsia to make monochromatic magic. Monochromatic color palettes don’t always have to be the same shade of one color, popping a brighter version or two of the color generates a fresh look that will catch the eye. Accessories can also be used to add in multiple shades of one color. Mix with neutrals such as white and nude in the summer so the outfit looks vibrant and clean cut.

Monochromatic never looked so good.
